KA Theus

The colt was drilling through his workouts like it was the easiest thing in the world. Rafica smiled down at Theus as she tipped her weight back in the irons to slow him down. Theus tossed his head in meager protest, but true to his nature, he slowed obligingly. The staff members adored Harry and Thisbe's son, he'd only grabbed the bit and taken off once during his first work in the spring. Now that he was well into the system, he was easy to manage with the snaffle bit.

Charles waved the horse and rider pair over, brandishing the old stopwatch in his hand. "41 seconds flat, not bad!"

Rafica's smile broadened and she patted Theus' damp neck. "He'll be ready for that race then, eh?"

"If he's not, no one is."

On their walk back to the barns, Rafica and Theus passed up Jessica who was grazing Thisbe in the yard. When the old broodmare picked up the scent of her son, Thisbe perked up and whickered delightedly. Ever the show off and true to his mama's-boy nature, Theus began to strut and prance with excitement. Jessica shook her head musingly and lead Thisbe away, the last thing they needed was for KA's prize mare to hurt herself just days before her next show.

Rafica and Theus watched them go, then continued on their way to the racing barn. Rafica dropped her stirrups and relaxed, reflecting on Thisbe and her descendents. She regretted not breeding Thisbe to an Arab stallion until her last cover, and still felt a flicker of disappointment that she hadn't foaled out a filly. Thisbe had never replaced herself for KA, her only daughters were either halfbreeds or out of halfbreed sires. While Rafica was not disappointed in any of the Thisbe foal achievements, she still felt like kicking herself for screwing up on the bookings.

Theus began to dance beneath Rafica, reminding her of Harry's achievement. Harry and Thisbe had been set to be crossed since Harry had began his racing career because of their obvious perfection for each other. Theus was smack dab in the middle of his parents when it came to looks; he had great substance of body set on tremendously long legs and was perfectly balanced. The thing that set him the most apart from his dam and sire was his coat, being born black he was slow to white out and Rafica doubted if he ever would. It suited to her preferences just fine though, Theus was fairly close to the KA ideal, and Rafica already intended to breed him to future Salahudihn daughters.

But first thing was first, Theus had to kick ass on the track, something he seemed dead set on doing.

HPR Personality
I am a very giving individual, and get a lot of personal satisfaction from the happiness of others around me. Cocks head to the side sometimes while being ridden (actually genetic, fun HPR!). I kick my stall out of boredom. Fears? Minis, Ponies and donkeys, It's so much smaller than me but I'm terrified of it! I prefer the company of people over the company of horses. I run up to my people when I'm out to pasture, love them! Shamus taught me, at a very young age, that potato chips are divine (be sure to bring me some when you visit my stall!).
